Visitors to Paxton Pits - index
Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a regular, we hope that you enjoy your visit to Paxton Pits. Please remember that it is a nature reserve, and so home to lots of wildlife. Please do not disturb it, especially during the spring/summer when animals are breeding and in winter, when the weather is severe.
Paxton Pits includes three areas: a nature reserve that is managed by Huntingdonshire District Council (the southernmost third), a watersports zone (the southwest corner, closest to the A1) and an active quarry that is managed by Bardon Aggregates. There is currently no public access to the quarry, although many areas will be brought within the nature reserve during the next 10 years, enabling access for quiet recreation.
