Sailing Lake
Although not part of the nature reserve, by arrangement with Aggregate Industries and Little Paxton Lakes Sailing Club respectively, there is good access for walkers. Access is from the village (in the southwest corner of Sailing lake), past the Sailing club (in the southeast), from the A1 Lakes (in the northwest corner) or from the Haul Road (in the northeast corner).

Haul Road
This forms part of the Heron Trail (a leaflet and map is available from the Visitors' Centre). Please use the footpath along the east edge of the road (within the wooden posts), especially during the week, when heavy lorries use this road to access the quarry.
