Jim Stevenson is our senior ranger and is responsible for the management of the site. His specialism is environmental education, increasingly with special needs clients.
Five Rangers are currently based at Paxton Pits, working for
Huntingdonshire District Council. Jim Stevenson works here full time
while the others all have responsibilities on other sites.
Kirsty Drew’s specialisations are administration, publications,
publicity, education and interpretation. Roland Fletcher is responsible for our workshop, tools and equipment, takes the lead on all of the agricultural work we do and
he undertakes the monthly site checks.
Matt Johnson is the tree specialist for the entire service and he
leads on most of the practical tasks on site. This year he is also leading on all our livestock management. At Barford
Road Pocket Park he runs angling classes for youngsters and does a lot of youth
work.
As a result of Aggregate Industries gaining planning approval for extended quarrying, we obtained funding for a fifth ranger. In 2008 Matt Hall was employed to take on a suite of work, allowing Matt Johnson to specialise in livestock.
